    We have just been tasked by our client to sort some commercial properties that have been ignored for a significant time. One area that is slightly outside my knowledge is regarding Fire Risk Assessments.
    The properties are mainly shops with at least one being used for hot food production, and all of the properties are on the ground floor with dwellings above using separate access, most of the dwellings already have a basic Type 1 FRA (which I am looking to change for all blocks regardless).
    Here comes my query- what FRA is required and to what depth?
    Should I consider the block as a single entity?
    Should the shops be treated in isolation?

    As always any advice especially from those with similar buildings gratefully received
