One Billion reasons to change the way we service Social Housing boilers
to attend the launch of the Review Report into
Boiler Procurement, Installation, Service & Maintenance in Social Housing
Location: Energy Management Theatre, EMEX, ExCel, London
Date: Thursday 20th November 2014
The Procurement process of boilers and their installation, service and maintenance, is a multimillion pound cost to the Social Housing sector each year. Yet the requirements are fairly standard – to supply heat to 4.7 million social housing homes in the most efficient, cost effective and sustainable manner.
BUT this is not currently being achieved and billions of pounds of public money is being wasted.
At EMEX, the report summarising the key findings of a comprehensive Review will be launched. The Report was commissioned by the Association of Gas Safety Managers (AGSM) and Chaired by Lord Redesdale to assess the current processes, identify key issues, barriers and challenges and to propose a way forward.
Written and oral evidence has been gathered from across the sector and a survey has been carried out amongst AGSM members, who are collectively responsible for gas safety in over two million social housing homes. The consultation process has included Housing Organisations, Procurement Frameworks, Boiler Manufacturers, Contractors, Merchants, members of the AGSM and CORGI Technical Services.
Speaker at the launch event will be:
– Ian Thompson, Executive Director Asset Management, Vivark Group
– Claire Heyes, CEO of the Association of Gas Safety Managers
– Lord Rupert Redesdale, CEO of the Energy Managers Association
– Alan Keers, Director of Operations, Red Kite Community Housing
Copies of the report will be available at the launch.
