Updated Technical Bulletin – Location of Protective Equipotential Bonding on Gas Pipework in Domestic Premises

Gas Safe Register have updated Technical Bulletin 102 (TB 102) – “Location of Protective Equipotential Bonding on gas pipework in domestic premises”.

For clarification it now clarifies that not all service pipework needs to be bonded. If for instance the service (water or gas) is plastic then the protective equipotential bonding (PEB) may not be needed.

From a gas engineers prospective nothing has changed; if they can’t see the protective equipotential bond then all they have to do is advise the responsible person and it would be up to the responsible person/owner to seek the services of a competent electrician to investigate further.
