AGSM Anniversary Boat Party

This year celebrates 5 years of the AGSM and to celebrate, we will be hosting a special Anniversary party and river cruise on the prestigious Caversham Princess boat.

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the AGSM. To celebrate this milestone and our combined achievements over this time, we are delighted to invite members of the AGSM to attend our 5th year anniversary boat party.  This event is available exclusively to AGSM and AESM members as well as members of the Women in Gas group, but tickets are limited so book fast!

Join us on board the Caversham Princess in Reading to celebrate our special day – we’ll start the afternoon with some interesting and informative technical sessions, followed by an opportunity to meet and network with other members in a relaxed environment.  There will also be a special meeting on the upper deck for our Women in Gas members.

Experience stunning scenery as we cruise along the Thames whilst you enjoy our barbecue and live music. A cash bar will be available on board, and tickets are just £15, with all proceeds donated to the housing charity Crisis.

To book your place, visit the Eventbrite booking page HERE! Or contact us directly at or 01256 548040.

Event Details

The event is being held aboard the Caversham Princess, Caversham Pier, Reading on the 7th September 2017.

The event has been kindly sponsored by Worcester Bosch, and we have some interesting technical presentations from both them and Tracpipe during the afternoon, plus plenty of opportunity to network.  For those joining our Women in Gas meeting, we also have a wonderful speaker who will be sharing her journey and raising some interesting discussion points for the group.

Travel and Timings

Guest registration will open at Caversham Pier, Reading, at 1.30pm, and we will be boarding the boat at 1.45pm. We will be setting sail at 2pm sharp, so please do ensure you arrive in plenty of time so as not to miss the event!

Caversham Pier is located just behind the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Reading, and can be reached using the following means of transport:

By Car: the postcode RG1 8BD will bring you to the parking closest to the pier. There is a public car park just behind the Reading Rowing Club (next to the Crowne Plaza Hotel) which is a pay and display car park.

By Public Transport: If planning to travel by train, Reading train station is only 5 minutes away from Caversham by taxi. Alternatively bus routes 18, 22, 24 and 27 leave from the station and stop nearby the pier at either Caversham Bridge or in Richfield Avenue( near the leisure centre).

On Foot:  If you are arriving into Reading station and would prefer to walk it takes no longer than 15 minutes on foot and is flat and easy. Exit Reading train station on the side away from the town itself and cross over the main road at the crossing lights (signed toward Caversham and the river). You then take a short path down the side of an office building before joining a path along the river. Turn left walking towards the new bridge and continue to follow the path until passing under Caversham Bridge and then Caversham Pier is in front of you.

Dress Code

The dress code for the afternoon is smart casual, however if the forecast is for sun, don’t forget your sun cream as we may well open up the top deck roof to enjoy the fine weather!

If you have any special dietary requirements you haven’t already told us about, please do so as soon as possible so our caterers are able to accommodate them for our barbecue. There will also be a bar onboard for any refreshments you may wish to purchase throughout the afternoon – it accepts cash and all cards except Amex/Diners Club.
